1. Who we are

Goalstar is provided by MACHEME LIMITED, a private limited company registered in England and Wales.

If you buy Goalstar Pro through the Apple App Store or Google Play, Apple or Google (as applicable) is the merchant of record for that purchase. They process payment, collect applicable tax, and handle store refunds under their own terms. We do not receive or store your card details.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old, and at least the age of digital consent in your country, to use Goalstar. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian agrees to these Terms on your behalf. By creating an account you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Your account

You need an account to use Goalstar. There is no guest mode. After you start a trial or subscribe, the App asks you to create an account with email and a password, Sign in with Apple, or Sign in with Google. You also choose a display name and a username so friends can find you. You cannot skip the account step and still use the App.

If you use Sign in with Apple, you may choose Hide My Email. We then receive a private relay address from Apple instead of your personal email. If you use Google, we receive the identifier and (when you share them) the name and email Google provides.

You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping login details confidential. Tell us at hello@macheme.com if you think someone else has used it. You agree to keep the information you give us accurate.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete my account. Deletion is permanent and removes your profile and associated data as described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Free plan and Goalstar Pro

Goalstar is a subscription app. On first launch we ask you to start a Goalstar Pro trial (where Apple or Google still offers one) or subscribe. There is no skip on first open.

If you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or paid period renews, you are not charged for the next period. When the current period ends, a signed-in account stays on the free plan:

• 1 active goal
• 1 custom list
• 1 recurring task (outside a goal)
• No AI planning or other Pro-only features

The free plan is only available if you have created an account. If the trial or paid period ends before you sign in, the App returns to the paywall and you cannot use Goalstar until you subscribe again (or restore a purchase) and then create an account.

You can subscribe to Goalstar Pro again at any time from Settings or the paywall. Restore Purchases is available on the paywall and subscription screens if you reinstall or change devices.

5. Subscriptions and billing

Goalstar Pro is an auto-renewable subscription. The title of the service is Goalstar Pro. Length and price are shown in the App at the point of purchase in your local currency, including any tax Apple or Google displays. Current plans:

• Weekly — billed every week. New subscribers who are eligible for Apple's introductory offer receive a 3-day free trial.
• Monthly — billed every month. Eligible new subscribers receive a 7-day free trial.
• Yearly — billed every year. Eligible new subscribers receive a 14-day free trial.

Apple allows one introductory offer per subscription group per Apple ID. If you have already used a Goalstar Pro trial (or another intro on the same group), the App will show the paid price instead of a trial. Trial length and eligibility are always taken from the store at checkout — the in-app price and trial badge are the ones that apply.

Payment and renewal (Apple App Store):

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
• The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited if you buy a subscription before the trial ends.
• Manage or cancel in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Goalstar. We cannot cancel an App Store subscription for you.

If you subscribed on Google Play, payment is charged to your Google account and you manage or cancel in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions. The same auto-renew and 24-hour cancellation window apply as shown in Play at purchase.

After you cancel, you keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for (or the trial, if you cancel during it). Then the free plan in section 4 applies. Cancelling does not delete your account or your goals.

6. Consumer rights

If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, nothing in these Terms takes away rights you have by law.

Digital content quality (UK Consumer Rights Act 2015). Digital content we supply must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If it is not, you may have a legal right to a repair, replacement, or a price reduction / refund.

Cooling-off (UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 / EU consumer law). Distance contracts for digital content normally include a 14-day right to withdraw. That right is lost, for the content already supplied, if you ask us to start the service immediately (for example by starting a trial or unlocking Pro) and you acknowledge that you will lose the withdrawal right. Starting Goalstar Pro in the App is immediate supply of digital content.

You can still cancel auto-renewal at any time as described in section 5 so you are not charged for the next period. For a refund of a charge that has already gone through the App Store, request it from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. For Google Play, use Google's refund flow. We will help with context if you email us, but the store decides store refunds.

The UK Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 subscription-contract rules (renewal cooling-off, prescribed reminder notices on a durable medium, and related duties) are not in force as of the date of these Terms; the UK government currently expects them in spring 2027. We will update this section when those rules apply to us.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable law.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, other accounts, or data.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App beyond what applicable law expressly permits.
• Harass, abuse, or harm others, including via friends or the leaderboard.
• Create multiple accounts to abuse free trials or promotional offers.
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scraping tools to interact with the App.
• Interfere with or disrupt the App or its infrastructure.

If someone is using Goalstar to harass you, long-press their name on the friends / leaderboard screen to Report or Remove them, or email hello@macheme.com.

8. Your content

You retain ownership of content you create in the App (goals, tasks, notes, plans, display name, and similar). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display that content solely to provide and improve the service — including syncing across your devices and showing progress to friends you add.

We do not claim ownership of your content and will not share it except as described in the Privacy Policy or where required by law. You are responsible for the content you post and confirm you have the right to use it.

9. AI-generated content

Goalstar Pro uses artificial intelligence to generate goal plans, task breakdowns, and suggestions from information you provide. AI-generated content is guidance only.

• Outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or a poor fit for you.
• You decide whether to follow any plan. Review it before you rely on it.
• Goalstar is a productivity tool. It is not medical, mental-health, financial, or legal advice, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional.
• Free-plan accounts do not include AI planning.

10. Gamification

Stars, streaks, levels, badges, and other in-app progress have no cash value and cannot be exchanged, transferred, or redeemed outside the App. We may change how these systems work.

11. Privacy

How we collect and use personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement. That page also explains Sign in with Apple / Google, voice input, friends, advertising identifiers, and your rights under UK GDPR / GDPR.

12. Ending your account

You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete my account. Deleting the account does not automatically cancel an App Store or Play subscription — cancel that in Apple or Google settings as well, or you may still be charged.

We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms. We will give notice where it is reasonable and lawful to do so. Upon termination your right to use the App ends.

13. Disclaimers

Subject to section 14 and to your mandatory consumer rights, the App is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that you will achieve any particular result.

14. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, a breach of your statutory rights in digital content that cannot be excluded, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under the law of England and Wales (or, if you are an EEA consumer, under the mandatory laws of your country of residence).

Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the App, except to the extent such loss is reasonably foreseeable and caused by our breach.

Subject to the same carve-outs, our total aggregate liability for claims relating to the App is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for Goalstar in the 12 months before the claim (or, if you paid Apple or Google, the amount they remitted to us for your subscription in that period) and (b) £50.

15. Apple App Store terms

If you downloaded Goalstar from the Apple App Store, you also agree to Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement (Standard EULA). If these Terms conflict with Apple's EULA on an Apple-specific point, Apple's EULA prevails for that point. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of the EULA and may enforce it.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer in the UK, the EU, or the EEA you may also bring a claim in the courts of your home country, and you keep any mandatory protections of that country's law.

17. Changes

We may update these Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top will change. For a material change we will give reasonable notice in the App or by email where we have an address, except where the law requires us to act sooner. If you continue to use Goalstar after the updated Terms take effect, you agree to them. If you do not agree, stop using the App and delete your account.
